Service Learning Weekly Journal

So far in my Service Learning class I have been learning alot.Like how to start project that will help the homeless, and how to take notes in class and how to stop Procrastination in class. Because I think that all that I have learn so far will help me in my life to come and also it will give me a chance to help otheres.I'm looking foward to our talent show and diner to help raise money to feed the homeles this thursday so I can really see what it is like to really help someone who needs help.

What Can I Do About Excessive Procrastination?

1.Break large task into smaller task
2.Reward yourself whenever you complete a task.
3.Work on tasks at the times you work best.
4.Work on tasks as part of a study group.
5.Get help from teachers and other students when you find a task difficult.

Taking Notes in Class

1.Keep your attention focused on what your teacher is saying. Listen for "signal statements" that tell you that what your teacher is about to say is important to write in your notes.

2.Write quickly so that you can include all the important information in your notes. Do this by writing abbreviated words such as med for medicine, using symbols such as % for percent, and writing short sentences.

3.Rewrite your notes to make them more complete by changing abbreviated words into whole words, symbols into words, and shortened sentences into longer sentences.

4.Check with other students to be sure you did not leave out important information.

5.Make your notes more accurate by answering any questions you had when writing your notes in class.

Topic 3: Study Skills/ Get to class on time

One of the thing that I think that I need to work on is getting to class on time. Because when I'm late for class I miss important things like what we are doing today, and how to get on my blogger, yeah I know it's strange but it's true. Also when I'm late I will have to make up the things that I missed when I was not in class and being late makes my class and group have to wait on me to get there and they might not like that.
